We invite you to join us in the fourth barrel bay, at the winery in Dundee, for a tasting of our wines and those that sustain our creative process. Antica Terra Master Sommelier, Nate Ready curates the tasting, which features eight wines: our current releases and a rotating selection of inspirational bottlings from around the world. The tasting can cover a vast range; from grower champagne and grand cru burgundy, to esoteric bottlings made from rare, indigenous grapes and employing innovative winemaking techniques that advance the limits of flavor. We serve the wines from a state-of-the-art Enomatic wine system where they are preserved under surgical-grade argon.
New ReleasesAurata ChardonnayVarietal: ChardonnayVintage: 2013Description: The rose-chafer (Cetonia aurata) beetle?s name comes from Aurum the latin word for gold. But the beetle is not gold. Its color is a left, circular, polarized reflection that is usually green (it can also be copper, violet, blue, black, or grey). In all of these possible colors the beetle alludes to gold. There is a golden, metallic glow that underscores its actual color. This is the way the Chardonnay feels to us. It isn?t actually gold, but everything about it feels golden. Since 2009, the site itself and the character of the wine it produces been dramatically transformed. There is an expression of place that we could not imagine was possible before. Choosing the name Antikythera allowed us to link the wine to the history of the site while indicating that it was something completely different than what had come before.Status: AvailableRelease Date: 2014-11-03Ceras Pinot NoirVarietal: Pinot NoirVintage: 2012Description: Its color is more purple than red. It is more about minerals and herbs than fruit and flowers. It is a focused and elegant distillation of rock rather than an opulent cascade of fruit. It is an expression of the geology that lays beneath our land, the tart blue fruits of the coast range and the tender herbs that one finds amongst the trees and mushrooms of the Northwest forest.Status: AvailableRelease Date: 2014-11-03Botanica Pinot NoirVarietal: Pinot NoirVintage: 2012Description: Botanica is always sappy and sanguine with a taste of wild rose, sour cherries, and blood orange. It is tempting to define them solely by their compelling texture and lush personality, but there is a structural element that is equally striking. This balance between extraordinarily concentrated fruit and intense levels of extract is the essence of the wine.Status: AvailableRelease Date: 2014-11-03Angelicall RoseVarietal: Pinot NoirVintage: 2012Description: In this conventional sense, ours is not ros?; but neither is it red or white. The liquid is macerated on the skins for a little over a week. Somewhere between the 6th and 8th day, the aromatics of the fermentation reach a peak of expression and fill the room with astonishing perfume. At this point, just before it becomes red wine, we siphon the juice from the fermenters and fill the barrels, where the juice finishes its fermentation and ages on the lees for a year before bottling.Status: AvailableRelease Date: 2014-11-03
